A relaxed and engaging author visit designed to introduce children to the joy of stories and the creative process behind them.
During the session, pupils will:
Take part in a shared reading of Ria the Anxious Hermit Crab
Learn where story ideas come from and how authors bring characters to life
Explore themes such as kindness, confidence, wellbeing, and understanding others
Take part in a guided question-and-answer session, encouraging discussion and curiosity
This visit supports spoken language, listening skills, and reading for pleasure, while helping children feel confident asking questions and sharing their thoughts in a supportive environment.
Sessions can be adapted to suit different age groups and class needs.
Session length and structure can be adjusted to fit your school timetable, although it approximately lasts around 1 and a half to two hours.
